Singapore Discovery Centre and Science Centre Singapore are 15 minutes apart but serve completely different audiences. Choosing the wrong one can waste your morning.

When to choose Singapore Discovery Centre
SDC wins for:
- Older children and teenagers aged 7+. The escape rooms, laser tag, and paintball appeal to this age group in a way Science Centre cannot match.
- Quieter visits. SDC is noticeably less crowded than Science Centre, even on weekends.
- Military-themed interests. If your child is fascinated by defence, the SAFTI MI Bus Tour and Army Experiential Programme are unique.
- Structured activities. SDC is guided and scheduled. You know what you are doing and when.
- Groups and team building. The escape rooms and Mission SG night experience work well for group outings.

When to choose Science Centre Singapore
Science Centre wins for:
- Younger children aged 3-7. The hands-on exhibits and KidsSTOP are designed for this age group.
- Mixed-age families. If you have both a toddler and a teen, Science Centre offers more for the younger child.
- Unstructured exploration. Children can wander, touch, and discover at their own pace.
- Value for a full day. Science Centre plus Omni-Theatre and KidsSTOP fills an entire day easily.
- Singapore Citizens and PRs. Off-peak admission is free, and peak rates are subsidised.
